Scot Drake is an executive surety professional with over two decades of experience in contract surety underwriting, regional leadership, and commercial risk management. As a proud alumnus of California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics, Scot blends a strong analytical foundation with deep industry expertise.
Before coming on to serve as Executive Surety Advisor at Commercial Surety Bond Agency, Scot started his contract surety career in 2003 and has held senior underwriting and management positions with respected organizations including Swiss Re Corporate Solutions/NAS Surety Group, IAT Insurance Group, The Insco/Dico Group, Great American Insurance, and Skyward Specialty Insurance.
Known for his strategic, big picture approach to surety underwriting and contractor development, Scot has worked closely with contractors of all sizes to structure bonding programs that support growth, strengthen financial positioning, and maximize project opportunities. His experience spans underwriting, regional leadership, business development, and long-term relationship management across the Southern California surety marketplace.
